Look Up by Scott Qu

Look Up!
Those people on their smartphones or any devices
This world simply needs more warmth to acquire blissfulness
We all use social media to be part of this society
Yet, we become careless about our morality
We shut the doors and leave the people around us alone
Then, we face the over-heated screen on our own

Look Up!
People on the bus and the skytrian
These places have turned so quite and that’s insane
Because all of them are looking down at their phones
We all want to be appreciative and friendly
Yet, we ignore the people and the beauty
Staring at the phone
We don’t care what’s happening around us

Look Around!
The Social that was created to link people together
Is just the opposite
People seat still in public
Children’s ability to communicate is diminishing
Because technologies dominate part of their lives

Talk to One Another!
Look up and enjoy every moment
Be with friends
Forget about your smartphones and computers

Appreciate this wonderful world

A Poem Is...

            Slowly drifting, drifting away
            It’s the waves.
            Only at the right moment
            You can surf unstoppably;
Only when whim exists within your body
            You can write a poem.

            It’s a savoury appetizer
            Not much,
But good enough for you to be content
Although short, a poem is able to make one satisfied
            And to think profoundly

            It’s an abstract painting
Which has many different hidden meanings beneath the surface
There is something new every time you look at it
Everyone has different views towards it
Like one does to a poem
So there is a new meaning every time you read it

            You write poems to express
            You read poems to appreciate
            With a simple poem
            Life can be changed

Physical or Sedentary ?

Nowadays, there is an increasing number of people who are becoming more sedentary. One of the most influential factors is the development of technology; for instance, computers, tablets, and cellphones. People prefer communicating via Facebook or emailing instead of visiting others. Even my parents sometimes would take their cellphones or ipads while having meals with me. This fact shows how different technology devices became a part of humans’ life. However, I am more physical than sedentary. I enjoy playing a variety of sports and appreciate other professional athletes. Also, I’m trying to affect my friends to be more physical.
I don’t think being sedentary is negative at all. Sedentary people have more time to reflect themselves, can be more concentrated on studying, and tend to be more calmed. Normally, these people are considered as knowledgeable. Nevertheless, being physical is more attractive for me as a teenager. I believe teenagers should be more active and somehow good at sports in order to become well rounded.
As an athletic person, a surprise just elated me this week. Having wanted to play for either basketball team or soccer team, I appeared on the last day of try out for the soccer team and only played for 20 minutes. Surprisingly, the next day when I wen to check the list, I was on it. Because of the experience of being physical and active, I could play all kinds of sports. As a result, I will be on the school soccer team this year. People might say that’s unfair for the other people, but I am more committed to be a more physical person by working out since 2 years ago, play sports so frequently, and of course love sports.
Also, basketball is my power to go forward not backward. It’s as motivating as lectures, which can encourage people to be better and never give up. I’ve been playing basketball for at least 5 years, and I’m proud enough to say that it changed me a lot. I used to be a sedentary kid until I started to play basketball. For one reason, there are many benefits to play basketball, for example, it taught me how to build teamwork and motive my teammates. Once, many teammates were so frustrated since we lost all of the games. I chose to stand out to ensure they could still be positive and play good games for our reputations.

Although our society is on the way towards less physical, I still believe a few people can bring back our physical world, where teenagers love to go out and do sports. I’m proud of being physical.

Sad Like a Baby

Your cry sounds like a baby being mistreated
by his stepparents
like a lost child seeking an exit in a maze, where filled with darkness
like someone leaving his husband
Like an old man
Like a pathetic cat meowing for his starvation
like a sparrow swimming in the water
Like wind blowing into my face weakly
a thunder could not be expressed,
a leaf falling onto the ground,
a poor puppy barking
like cereal softening in milk
Like a cell phone vibrating upon a wooden desk, which promised to spend the whole career with me
a bottle of water pouring into some roots of the trees
like raindrops jumping on my face
like the sound I heard when leaving my home and my best friend cried to me.

Greed

Whose money they are I’m sure we know
Her greed doesn’t le her go

She cannot get me true love
To stop reaching her vanity top

My adorable wife must changed long time ago
To live without a beautiful world

Between the rich and happy life
The dark greed covers love

She gives her server a stack of money
To see if anyone has some real honey

The only one has is a poor man
Of fantastic homeliness and much fun

The life is tough and low
But I chose to let her go

And happy life before I regret
And happy life before I regret
